It’s the weekend of St. Patrick’s Day, which of course means plenty of green and celebration of Irish culture. Chicago, for instance, dyes its downtown river green each year. Fun facts.

Elsewhere, parades and festivities typically bring revelry and debauchery, brought about by many rounds of green beer and other green liquors. Who knows if it’s legitimate celebration or just furthering an Irish stereotype. It’s probably just another reason to have a real good time.

But anyway, politics! That’s why you’re here, right? Each weekend, we’ll cull together the best stories from the week in one convenient post, usually accompanied by some tangential ranting. It’s how we do things around here.
