So that headline is a bit misleading — no, we are not on “holiday,” as the Brits would say instead of “vacation.” Rather, we’re referring to the reprieve from nonstop holiday madness.

December through March brings one holiday after another, be it Christmas, Kwanzaa, New Year’s, MLK Day, Inauguration Day, Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day, Presidents’ Day or Saint Patrick’s Day. And lest we forget unofficial holidays like Super Bowl Sunday and Oscar night.

Truth be told, we’ll be ready for any holiday by mid-August. But for now, it’s just nice not having to plan for anything.

Our “week in review” feature, for the uninitiated, is a roundup of Politically Inclined’s top stories from the week that was, plus whatever inane ramblings that seem appropriate.
