“The Undefeated” – the unapologetically pro-Sarah Palin “documentary” premiered in several mid-size cities yesterday after a debut in, you guessed it, Iowa, in late June.
My favorite review yet was from the L.A. Times’ Robert Abele, who described the movie as a “a troop-rallying campaign infomercial as imagined by Michael Bay: hero-worshipping, crescendo-edited at a dizzying pace, thunderously repetitive and its own worst enemy as a two-hour, talking-points briefing.”
Two hours? Holy Mother. I can’t even stand watching her five minute rants on Fox News.
But at least the people in Alaska will be spared. Turns out that no city in her home state had the privilege of hosting the “The Undefeated” (not to be confused with the actual ‘The Undefeated,’ a John Wayne movie that came out in 1969). Instead that honor fell on AMC theaters in a bunch of random mid-size cities with inordinately high populations of conservatives. Yep.
Anyway, if you feel like being frustrated for two-ish hours, you should totally go see it. If you don’t, maybe the below clip will be enough for you.
